after the success of last springs weekend at Newton Stewart, i was just wondering if anyone fancied a weekends touring/roughstuff riding, somewhere in the new year.
probably april time. was thinking north pennines area, but whatever suits really.

You know, blackmail is such a horrible word, but £50.00 will ensure she never, ever sees that comment. 🙂

I could do the 9\8th weekend I'm working rest of months weekends so I'd have to try swap leave with someone but that's easier said than done and won't find out til mid Jan 🙁

Obviously it revolves around more people than me tho lol

I fancy this(again)
Having a "life changing process" for 2016 ie preparing for auld age & retirement 😉
Will not be working shifts ever again, so weekends are mine for the first time in over 30yrs!!
Might be out if the country though if MrsT has a say in it 🙄

How's about supporting the Lakes given their current and ongoing issues?

Trekster nice idea but personally I'd rather it be in the initial location

Appleby?

Certainly hit pretty bad by flooding. Easy to ride across to the lakes or over the Pennines from there.

Ooh, interested. Let's see what weekend you settle on as I have a jaunt over to Belgium and Holland with some local mates which might clash. YHA at Dufton might suit, and a pull up the hill to High Cup or Cross Fell? Is Appleby North Pennines? They will be happy for the trade round that way when they can get dried out.

Seem to remember it's a nice pub in Dufton.

Not sure how well set up they'll be for this bunch of vagrants.

the place i have in mind is just outside alston.
it sleeps 24. made up of a room for 10, a room for 9 and a room for 5.
in three separate buildings.

it is £20 per night.

looking at the 15th/16th april.

when i have enough deffo's via email, i will book the rooms accordingly.

Looks like there's a Country Hotel less than a mile away. Surely they'll have a bar.

I'll see how numbers/availability/work stacks up. Might bring the van for kipping in.

I'm in - loved the last one (just make sure you book the same weather). Just need to double check dates before confirming.

Train?

Hopefully I'll be a lot fitter than I am now, but if not, who cares?

I've had approval from the lovely Mrs B so I'm in. I assume that a cyclocross bike is appropriate?

It's what I rode last time, and I'd argue the most appropriate bike for what we did - though almost nothing would have been totally inappropriate (a track bike maybe?)

Checking dates on the calendar, it appears we have a birthday to celebrate on the Friday (if we need any excuse) 😉

Ton, is it Haggs Bank you're thinking of? I stayed there last year and, if so, also know the hotel referred to above. Food is good, beer is brown 🙂
