Yay! Al - bringing those s-max legs?
It'll be about 3 hours riding. Pretty flat. Jumps if you want.
Hopefully not too much faffin'
oh, and maybe some documentary evidence.

I am a definite. Satan himself couldn't prevent me from turning up. Because on Sunday, at 10am, on Richmond Bridg, the greatest ride the world has ever seen will be undertaken by all of us.

I'm sorry. I've had an awful lot of steroids in my treatment today. Forgive the last demented post.

Well, it only needs a very small critical mass of riders for a ride to turn into a faff-fest. Oh, and there's the bmx track which should remove a fair bit of skin.

I'm based in Surbtion psychle.

I should have a bike next week so I'll get out soon anyway even if I don't make this one - so I'm hoping it becomes regular too pinches.

Yay! Looks like I can come and MrsPP will do too I think, being as it looks more 'pootle' than 'hardcore' ๐Ÿ˜‰ We'll probably both come on our commuter bikes. Are 7sp Carrras allowed?

Any chance someone could do a link to the start point? I think I know where it is, but I'd like to be sure ๐Ÿ™‚

I believe that this should work.
7 speed? - niche!

I'm thinking of going all out and riding the Enduro, you need 6" of travel for a London pootle, right? ๐Ÿ˜† or maybe this is a good opportunity for the first STW outing of the 'new improved' 2-speed Frankenbike... decisions decisions... and I still have to decide what to wear!

As we'll be riding through the Hamptons - basically whatever you're riding - ride it like you stole it ๐Ÿ˜‰

I've just realsied the river is north south at richmond so 'Southern end of the bridge' was a bit of a daft comment by me....I doun't suppose it will cause problems though. See you tomorrow.

Cheers folks!

Good to see everyone for the pootle.
Hope it was ok for y'all - sorry Pete & Kirsty if the message got a bit mixed (oops).
Good to meet everyone - and a special mention to Petesgaff, we're rooting for you.

Loved meeting some new people, thanks everyone and go Mark! 8)
Thanks for guiding Andy.
Slightly sore legs now...80k by the time I was home again ๐Ÿ˜•

Okay for the next STW london pootle I suggest 'West to East via South' - Ealing to Woolwhich via the capital ring walk, it maps at 63k so a bit of a biggy. The follow on would be East to West Via North at 59K...and then....I think you can guess what I'm thinking ๐Ÿ˜ฏ I'll start another thread for those though.

Thank you guys for an excellent day!

Sorry for dragging my arse a bit; the treatment this week was a little heavier than I thought, and it was all I could do not to fall asleep in the van when I got back to Richmond... Still, I think everyone was amused by my choice of 'steed'!

Look forward to the next one!

I don't suppose any of you guys mapped it on GPS? I'm really pissed with myself that I missed it and would love to find some decent off-roading places around here, at the minute the closest that I know of is the North Downs, which isn't great when you want to go out for a quick spin.

c-g, you aren't special....he asks everyone, even me ๐Ÿ˜†

mmccarthy - I've got the outward leg on gps but forgot to get the return, that was straight down the canal though so easy to map. Right err....how to get it to you though. I've never managed to get the 'send track by email' bit of memory map to do anything! if you can guide me through getting that working I can send it to you though. HOWEVER don't get your hopes up!! it wasn't 'decent off-roading' in a North Downs stylee, it was a fun social ride along quite roads, park and canal paths and the like. email me if you want it.

Neil - you're forgetting the North Shore (although technically I think it was the west shore).

Look at the Crane River Path - that's basically what we rode up, with a jaunt via Feltham Marshalling Yard and Hayes BMX track before heading back to Hanwell to The Fox for Sunday Roast.

PS: Maxxis Advantages and 38T/16T singlespeed is not a good choice for London Pootles... god I was struggling!

wuss ๐Ÿ˜‰ I did about the same distance as you on my unicogger.....although with 2.1/1.95 tyres 32:16 and it probably weighs 5 kilos less.....I find a nice light SS a pefect bike for riding around london ๐Ÿ™‚

I've started a thread for london ride #2/2010, valentine's day.

Just got back from a nice evening in the Pride of Spitalfields. Was wondering about a night pootle in town when the weathers better and the nights are shorter. Where to end up for a sunrise breakfast?
Psy - nice to meet you - I need to mail you some distaff clothing options.

hmm a night time pootle and finish at one of the markets? The boozers round spitalfields probably do some stonking breakfasts, washed down with a pint of porter...could be tempted ๐Ÿ™‚
