I've been trying to remove an isis BB from an allu frame using prop. tool, cup side (RH thread) came out no problem but t'other (LH thread)is being a right little monkey and refusing to budge. Anyone got any practical tips or should I entrust it to local bike shop?

christ ๐Ÿ˜ฅ i had similar problem with a square taper ended up mangling the splines and hacksaw/chisel out. Is the cup plastic? i would try to turn it in more see if you can loosen it. Get a load of oil or something on it. if not take it down a good bike shop i emphasize good, as a poor one will do what a home mechanic will do.

last point next time you fit get some copper slip on the threads.

Use a bolt and washer to hold the tool in the cup and prevent slipping, you'll feel far more comfortable applying a good bit of force then.If you still have no luck try putting the tool in a big, well fixed vice(make sure it's a decent one, we've snapped a cheapo doing this)and turn the frame instead.
