[#11467342]

This has happened a few times now. I can go for a ride and strava will show my time for a segment but state my PR as being a slower time from a previous ride. I can leave it a few days but it never updates my PR to the newer faster time. I don't get hung up over strava times as I really just use it to track my improvements or lack of but does anyone know why this hapens?

Hi,

It is well known issue on Strava. Just look Strava Support for "PR not updating after ride". Looks like it is at least several years old known issue.

Occasionally it helps to edit ride, save it as hidden, edit once again save a unhidden. Also doing the same with changing activity type and then going back to cycling seems to have similar effect.

But not always...

Cheers!
I.

when strava got back to me, they told me to change sport type to Canoe, wait 60 seconds, then switch it back to Ride

seems to work for me

I got this quite a lot, ironically only AFTER I started paying for the service!

Anyway, I was uploading to 'private' initially then switching to 'public' if I was interested in seeing any results etc. Seems that uploading to 'public' first helps it to update positions etc. otherwise it takes ages or never at all.

I wouldn't mind waiting for it to update but I'm usually only interested in the 10 minutes cool down after a ride, after that I'm not bothered about the results!

I am at the stage where it would be useful if Strava did PWs so I could see how badly I am doing.
