Yep. I was well chuffed until I looked at the stats... No.1 of 1. 🙁

I have one, only because the faster local people haven't ridden it or any big bunches (which would be cheating IMO). Otherwise I would be in the top 10 or 5 but no higher.

Yep - proud owner of one KOM, uphill too! But I'm no riding god so I suspect that's mainly because the people who have the rest of the KOMs around Swinley (looking at you, gee) haven't ridden it yet.

Got several, mix of mtb and road. I am happy to get a top 10% on a segment.

I did. It awarded me a handful of randomly guessed ones, that made very little sense. I deleted most.

Me well I may delete one as well.
I'm now 2nd out of 3, still KOM though cos the leader is a girl 🙂

Yes. But I'm not silly enough to imagine they really mean anything!

(Note: This does not mean I won't shed a tear for them when someone - who is quite obviously cheating as no-one could ever go faster than me - knocks me off top spot). 🙂

Yes, I like trying to get KOMs, it's fun.

Someone will soon chip in with a 'whats the point/relevance?' question, or 'try racing someone properly in a proper race' comment

I take it as it is, a bit of fun. I'm in a club, and people are constantly trying to top each others times, good for banter and fitness too, even if one guy does seem to get the majority of them. Not me I might add, I have one. Just one.

I once accidentally left my garmin turned on for the drive home with the bike on the roof, that got me a few KOM's!!

One, but only because it's a pretty unknown trail. Only one other person's ridden it on Strava

I've got/had a few, but only on stuff that not many people have ridden.
Current 4th on a hill that has been ridden by 803 is probably better 😉

You're not the only one. I saw someone's KOM the other day that was an average of 60mph 😀

I've got one 1st and one 2nd both on downhills. Frightened the life out of me getting them though. Pretty chuffed with myself

I had one until last week, which I didn't realise I had until I was informed someone had beaten me. Hay ho, not that bothered to be honest. I do like trying to beat my own best times though.

I only have 1, but it is on a fairly hotly contested (>100 people ridden it) downhill segment.

I'm top 10% in a few more, and then middle table in the rest.

These are all downhill segments, dont care about uphill (maybe I would if I could ever get out of the bottom 10%)

I think for a bit of fun it would be good if you could see all your top 10's too.

I'm fortunate/unfortunate enough to ride regularly at places where a few very well known riders also do, so anything in the top 10 is a serious achievement.

It's all good, harmless fun 🙂

Got 8, a mixture of road and off road. Think my best position though is on a road climb where I'm 3rd out of 280. A couple of my KOMs weren't even segments when I rode them but have been added by others later.

A dozen or so.
Made the mistake of telling a certain Nick Craig about one road climb local to us which I got - 2 days later I got an email saying "Uh-oh, Nick Craig has taken your KOM..."

Git.

Got one last week - the first I've had since Strava really caught on with the fit n fast fraternity.

Fastest of 12 people who've ridden it so it must be fairly new and probably won't last.

Got a couple of of top 5 out of 300-plus placings that owe their existence to a freakishly helpful tailwind.

Still, who's to say the KOM didn't have one of those, too? Or a milk float.

Hob Nob - try Veloviewer. It displays your segment data rather more thoroughly than Strava. It takes the data direct from your Strava account.

Oh, and 17 😳

No, because I’m a girl. I have more QOMs than I expected though. I obviously benefit from the fact that I’m in a smaller pool of riders (but most of them have been ridden by other people so it’s not just that I’m the only female to have ridden them and recorded it on there). I did a sportive at the weekend and picked up some QOMs from it, there are a couple of other women who have also uploaded their rides round the same route on the same day but I seem to have been faster up the climbs than they were.

Being top 10 on a segment is less meaningful for me because only a relatively small proportion of mine have significantly more than 10 female riders.

No KOMs but I'm in the top 5 on quite a few local gravity assisted singletrack segments.

About 50 but I am an awesome riding god.

It may also be due to living in the NE where the ratio of riders to KOM is more favourable.

Got a few proper ones. One at Innerliethen on the XC loop descent.

Not sure if this has been posted before, but you can see where you lost the KOM!

Had a KOM at Coed Y Brenin for quite a few months and a couple of top 10's on some other sections 🙂

I've got a few and plenty of top tens on trails ridden by quite a few people inc whole loops of trail centres 😀

I'm also faster than Kristian House on a few local segments, he must've had a lot of punctures that day 😆

Got 12, all back down south where I used to live.

I thought the number would slowly get whittled down in my absence and as faster riders joined Strava, but it's actually increasing as other people add more segments in my old local woods.

Very happy to get a top 10 up here in my new locale!

I technically did have one, I was playing with the Strava and created a short segment for a section of cheeky DH in my local woods.

Clearly nobody else had logged that particular line on Strava and thus I went straight to the top of a leader board with only me on it and was informed I had a KOM...

TBH I felt a bit shabby awarding myself "Interweb Props" and would probably have guided more people to the woods than I would like so I deleted it...

I've got two, both on climbs and both on the same ride which was >100km in length and on a SS MTB. I'm in the top ten of a few climbs at Hamsterley, but only make it to about the middle of the leaderboards for descents.

I don't think many properly fast locals use it much off-road and a few of my good results are on slightly odd segments, that include places where people riding in groups would normally stop to regroup.
