[#5325765]

After wanting a Jones for ages, I was finally lucky enough to be able to get one.

Thanks to Charlie , this arrived on my doorstep a couple of days ago.

Charlie's a great guy to deal with and he's done a fantastic job on the build for me.

A shout out also for JRA, who as per normal have done a great job on the wheels.

I know that it’s a marmite bike, but I think it’s great and green is my favourite colour 8)

Just got to trim the steerer......

That looks really nice.

Is it heresy to put normal bars on a Jones?

Whats with the tape on the rear stays?
It's a SS and the non drive is safe isn't it????
That Green looks better in the flesh IMO.

whilst I don't like the frame/forks at all, the colour and the finishing kit is just stunning.

It's got the Jones bars fitted to it with the longer ESI's.

The tape is just the self amalgamating tape that I always put on my bikes. Just to stop the usual chainstay marks.

It's got the singlespeed dropout fitted with the Pauls bolt on axle.

Funnily enough, I've got a Knard in the back room 😀

Managed to get the pics before taking it out.

I've gotta get a go on a Jones. That frame looks fun! How tall are you, assuming that's set-up for you?

I'm just over 5ft 7 in height.

I usually ride with a BB axle to top of seat measurement of 29" (it's actually 30" in the pics) so I've now lowered it a bit.

I'm running it with a 100mm / 0 degree stem and it feels bob on; although I've not got loads of miles on it yet.

Your a luck, lucky man.

What does it tip the scales at ?

Tazzy...are you astride such a beast these days then...?

I had a go on a Ti Jones with a fat front last weekend, how does the steel compare?

The green nicely camouflages the shape against the grass 🙂

Great color though. just what I'd been considering for a repaint of one of my frames so thanks for that 🙂

Great looking bike, one of the best I have seen. Looking at a build later this year for either a Fargo or a Jones. Looks like Charlie did a great job and some great components.

Jealous.

Quite a bit stiffer in the rear...

Looking good but needs a Knard and Rabbit Hole on the front. 🙂

That is a damn fine looking bike IMHO. I love the look of the Jones (never ridden one 🙁 ) and that colour is immense! Good choice sir.

Yeah, lovely bike to build.

This is one that was officially endorsed by Sigue Sigue Sputnik.

Are you still calling it "love missile f29"?

they're the sort of cranks I could see me building a bike around 🙂

That is a lovely bike, it's not one I'd want to own, but I can see why someone would love and cherish it.

What happens if you build up a Jones without a Brooks, H/loop bars and WI cranks? Does it turn into a BSO overnight?

Thanks for all the great comments, Charlie did an amazing job on the build.

I was a bit undecided on silver or black kit, but finally decided on the silver. I’m glad I did and I’m over the moon with the way it turned out.

I’d wanted a Jones for ages and saw a green one in the flesh earlier this year. I thought the colour was fantastic and seeing it first hand really sold it to me. I think it’s called ‘Grass Green’ RAL6010.

Not too sure what the bike weighs but it’s definitely lighter than I thought it was going to be. I haven’t even got a set of scales to weigh it, although I don't think I've ever weighed a bike.

Cool. Shape/colours have me thinking of old Amricana - stuff like this.

That is lovely - like the silver kit - not so keen on the tape - copter tape would be more subtle - are you a geek rubber?
