[#966420]

I'm after a steel hardtail frame to replace my old Kona Hoss.
Needs to be a good general purpose XC/Trail bike.
Should be good with 130-140mm forks.
Should be reasonably light.
Must have rack mounts!

What's out there?

On one steel frames have the mounts I think.

Genesis 520 frames but 120-130 max on Altitude.

Orange steel frames.

Loads out there.

Any other options?

The Genesis Altitude is meant to be about £400 I think (up from £350 for the 2009) but I've yet to find anyone stocking the frames and I haven't got a response to my emails from Genesis recently (odd as they're usually great, so it could my my emails that are duff).

One-Ones, as mentioned above, also have rack mounts.

No, its steel and only £135 - but their Ti version is 1.7/8kg for a 20", and has rack mounts!

another 456 vote - not light, is good (and cheap). Scandal might be worth a look at 130mm too
