Got to assemble a front end today, i have a headset with new star nut or should i use a Hope head doctor, pro's and con's.
Star nut is here and obviously cheaper.

If it's a carbon steerer, use a head doctor, if it's alloy and you've got a SFN, smack it in adn be done with it.

Head doctor has an attractive large bolt, i usually use the bolt and cap from the head doctor with an SFN

I've snapped the bolt that comes with a head doctor - SFN all the way for me.

Yer supposed to take the slack out with it, not torque it to death 😉
(I'd go for a Hed doctor, btw...)
