Ive got a 10 speed Sram X9 mech running as a 1x10 on my bike. Been fine and dandy for ages - until Wednesday night this week. 3 or 4 times the chain managed to jump off the lower jockey wheel and get jammed between the wheel and the cage. All on the bumpier bits of trail, but we’re not talking rock gardens or that high speeds. A few weeks back it was fine at Cwmcarn on the Twrch which is considerably faster and bumpier.
Do I need new jockey wheels, or has something else happened? I haven’t crashed or bashed it and nothing else has changed since the last few times I’d ridden it. Cassette and chain are near enough new (Maybe 5 - 10 rides), gears seem set up well and the chainring hasn’t seen that much use either (it’s a raceface NW). The clutch on the mech still seems to have ok tension and the jockey wheels still spin ok.
Do I need new jockey wheels,
Dunno with out a pic. Sounds the most obvious thing that’s causing it though if the chain and cassette aren’t that old
Do they have any teeth left on them, do they resemble Ninja throwing stars?
