Why are they so god damn expensive!? £26.99 from CRC for the one I need and A whole new rear mech is only £49 on sale at CRC. Tempted to just buy the new mech but seems a waste. Can I fit the later model jockey wheels to my short cage X9? They are only £18?

Yep, that's why you want to Google "BBB Jockey wheels" and get yourself a set for a tenner.

SRAMs price is not that differant to shimano.
It's just the SRAM ones fail far more often , always got on well with the tacx ones
