[Closed] Split crown race headest recommendations

Used these for a while and good for the price. Not 100% sure if they still come with a split race though - but that's nothing 20 seconds with a hacksaw and file can't sort out.

Any headset can have a split crown race if you use common sense & a hacksaw.

FSA Orbit and Nukeproof headsets come with split crown races and are in the £25-40 ish range.

Another option would be look for a used hope one in the for sale section, give it a bit of TLC and it should see you right for a good while.

Orbit is the obvious choice, but davidtaylforth is spot on- all my headsets have split races, but I think only one of them came with one.

i presume you can only take a hacksaw to a crown race if the headset uses cartridge bearings

Yup. But then, it's 2012, so I can't see any reason to buy a headset that doesn't.
