Thought you were buying a car, not a new bike.

Specialized AFR Shock w/ Spike valve, air spring, adj. rebound and low speed compression, 7.875x2.25"

You can look through the archives on Specialized's web site.

PS - thought you liked low BB's? That looks like a skyscraper.

Wierd isn't it- different bikes different set of angles work. I picked up one of these secondhand for a trip/holiday and really liked its height etc but not the weight!:

It does look like a very loft BB, at 356mm. I was quite surprised to see that the vaunted SX Trail shares an identical BB height.

My 2004 Enduro is 335mm in the low setting and even the Wolf Ridge which I assumed to be quite a lofty bike is 345mm! ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

I'd assumed that all Spesh bikes shared a very low BB.

[edit] I do like the look of that SX though.

Its ****ing lovely. Abit short on the top tube in a medium- I almost fell over/onto the bars a few times as I was pedalling from behind (it felt like) but getting used to it it felt better than you (just that bloody weight- over 9lb for the frame!)

I bet it feels very wieldy on the turns though. I wouldn't want one of those if it were my only bike, but as a fun bike it looks just the ticket. Nice and slack and in my size it actually has a slightly longer TT than my Marin.

I bet with a real focus on weight savings you'd could shave an SX right down..

You'd have to throw a lot of cash at it to bring the weight down, but it would be possible to get it close to 30lb I reckon. So you're switching to a 2009 SL? I'm quite curious about that. I know a few loyal Enduro owners who haven't gotten on very well with the SL, but all I've managed on one is a quick punt around Thetford's car park.

How do you find it, or are you speculating at the moment?

This might help.

Beefing up an Enduro, depending upon your model year.

On my (now sold) 2006 S-Works Enduro I fitted an 215mm with 64mm stroke.

Spec say it needed a 57mm stroke but that was only on the small frames to stop the rear wheel hitting the seat tube. Medium, large and extra large don't have this issue.

D'oh, EDIT I see its a 2009!. Oh well maybe the above is of use to someone.

200x57 - it's magic with a Loco Van RC...and a chain guide. And upgraded wheels hubs and BB...

Long wheelbase.

Here I am about to put my 2009 Enduro SL to use. It's the perfect Chamonix bike:

Pjm from what I've read 05/06 is good and 10 onwards returns to the same feel etc. Inbetween with the horizontal shock rides different (not as good) 'apparently'.
