There's a 29er Rockhopper on ebay (not mine). Already been on once but didn't sell!

Spesh do quite a range of 29ers but only available if you live over the pond. Unless you know someone who a retailer out there can ship it to in the USA and then they send it on to you 😉

They ship a lot out to the States.

Like import Specialized bikes from the US...? Perhaps they could then have a special offer on shooting 'emselves in the collective foot.

i looked into getting a fsr 29er from the usa but decided against it as the duty would amount to about 21%

did find a really helpfull dealer though who was prepared to dirty a new bike up and sell it as a demo to keep the (stated) value down.

I decided to stick to an on one 29er SS

gears are so last season.

When I did a google chopping search they were coming up in Germany. Nearer than America and less complictaed to import from

Bike-boarder

Actually says free uk delivery if you click on a bike

Damn mainly 09 bikes except the carbon one.......

21% - wrong

9.5% duty/vat on a £770 Big Mama on top of shipping of £57 which included a fork of £348. UK frame price £1400

Ha Ha Ha 😀

2 options - find a friendly dealer or get someone over there to buy for us (if we need to get around a Spesh dealer policy) and then send on, which involve various options again

That's a shame. I think that's what you're up against. Perhaps we need to exhaust that option 1st?

I have a 23" Spesh Rockhopper 29er and i love it. Mine was only £750 and was a damn sight better specced than the one going on ebay. That one is waaaaay overpriced.

I got mine last xmas from the local Spesh Concept Store but it would seem that they aren't importing them this year which i think is a shame as i thought it was the best value 29er around at the time. Evans sold them but no idea how many they had. I've found a few around 2nd hand but not many. There is a 17" and 19" for sale at the moment that are ex demo for £500.

If i knew how to i'd post a pic of the Spesh.

It was me who imported the Big mama as well and the duty was far better than anticipated. Although i'm told the duty on a full bike is far higher than that for bike parts.

I could probably manage it Ton, but a little research on pricing/exchange rate and freight would be in order.
Some strategy to make the bike look used too? Worn tyres fitted?

Called the LBS, All sold out on 2009, although there's a 19", and 17" Rockhopper left at $1800NZD.(about 800quid- no pound sign!)

Only the Hardrock is available as 29 for 2010 🙁

Ooh, sorry to hear that James.
