Hi all, question for you...  I'm looking for a pair of trainers / casual shoes which are SPD pedal compatible i.e I can ride my MTB into town clipped in (without wearing my MTB SPD's!) but still wear them round the shops now my son is old enough to ride with me / ride to school etc.  Any recommendation's please?

Thanks..

DZR, but don’t expect to get a long lifespan from them if you do major mileage walking - flexing the stiff shank for pedalling will eventually snap it. Occasionally appear discounted - SportPursuit & online cycle shops.

I got a pair of Specialized Cadet's from Rutland when they were £15.  Unless your close enough to read the specialized logo they just look like any other running shoe (wouldn't want to try running in them, bu they're at least softer than normal SPD shoes).

That. I picked up a couple of pairs in the sale for the school run (push my bike to school whilst walking the kids, then ride a couple of miles to work)

I've had a set of Chrome Kursks for a few years and really like them. I've got the mid rise ones but they do normal ones too. The sole is stiff so they're still a little spoddy to walk in but they do the job nicely.
