Ridden both,but didn't buy either.
The Spark probably climbs the best of any bike I have ever ridden, a huge amount of grip, and felt really sprightly. However, in the twisty stuff it felt really long, like the rear wheel was about 3ft behind me,didn't like it in the singletrack. If you are racing at places like Margam it would be ideal, less so at Drumlanrig for example.
Heihei was really good, there is just something about Konas. They shouldn't work on paper, they tend to be heavy and rubbish spec for the money but just feel right when you sit on them.
.
in the end I bought a Yeti ASR. When it works it is great, but I have broken 2 frames so far.Evolution, the previous importers, were fantastic, can't fault them,no problems getting a replacement (I didn't even notice it was cracked until they told me, it was in for other work but they found a 4mm hairline craack on the BB shell.New frame turned up 6wks later). Silverfish, the new importers, much less helpful unfortunately. There is a known issue with the older style swingarms but they aren't a lot of help.Shame, as it is a very fast bike.
.
Try a Trek Fuel too, very nice to ride and Trek are lovely helpful people.

Yea,borrowed a Kona Hoss which is quite a heavy bike and rode it round The Lakes last year and don,t know why but when you pressed on them pedals it shot forward like a lightweight,so might sway towards a Hei Hei but will look at Treks, thanks for the reply.

Can I say, Giant Anthem. Better spec for your money than both mentioned and probably lighter too
