Planning a little weekend trip for the coming weekend, (6/7). The original plan was to do the Long Mynd and general Shropshire trails. I gather its doable, if muddy, what about some of the DH places? Bringewood, Hopton and Eastridge? How do they ride in the wet, and have they had much snow?

Anyone ridden them over the weekend? Ta!

I rode bringwood last night, it was ridable, but still 90% covered with upto 6 inches of snow. Mortimers side was 100 % ridable, some of the sheltered bits were snow covered.
I would say that hopton etc would be exactly the same, with the south facing slopes ok, and the north still arctic like.

Id go for it next weekend, maybe very very slushy though. I can update on friday if it helps (im in ludlow).

I don't know about Eastridge or Hopton, but Bringewood is rideable if you don't mind d/h in the snow! Rode it last night, and as its north facing its still covered top to bottom. It did go tho. It's a push back up, forestry roads have too much snow on them. It'll be a bit clearer by next weekend, but as its taken over a week to get as clear as it is it'll probably still be white in places!

Edit, beaten to it!

The Charlton Arms pub in Ludlow.

They have a place for storing bikes, and rooms, a great location and great beer.A forumer from here stayed there recently. They also own the Church in Ludlow, a bit more spit and sawdust, they may suggest staying there and storing the bikes in the Charlton, just down the road.

Myself and my riding mate posting above only live 200 yards away ๐Ÿ™‚

Give them a call.

The dh trails are still 3 or 4 inches deep in horrible slushy snow, but all ridable, most of the other trails are riding pretty well, even dry and dusty in places ๐Ÿ™‚
