So the story is I love my Spesh Enduro 2011 Expert I've been using it for everything, out in the hills, trail centers and the daily commute to work BUT as I've only room for a couple of bikes and winter on the way I decided to trade in my DH bike as TBH I'm always on the Enduro and don't need anything beyond the 160 mm of travel it offers. Thus saving the Enduro from the worst of the winter commuting weather.

So in the shop on Saturday and after I got a decent (ish ๐Ÿ™„ ) price for the DH bike I bought a Spesh Carve Comp 29er HT 2013 straight back home quick look over and off I went.

And I love it! I don't know whether it's because it's lighter (being a HT) or the bigger wheels but it just seems faster.
This was confimed today as my riding home buddy from work admitted he struggled too keep up and he's 10 years younger than me and my regular riding mate out on the hills as well. The usual commute home is him in front and me trying to keep up!LOL

So for what I want it for, the daily commute, riding locally (canal paths etc) and a bike miss llama can use on the rare summer day she fances a ride out. I'm sold I love it and to be honest once I'm riding it feels like a standard size 26" bike anyway.

Would I use it on techy trails, big rocky stuff, or my runs out to the lakes etc.... errrr NO That's what my Enduro is for ๐Ÿ˜€

I really did not rate all the marketing bullshit with regards to 29er's but I'm sold on them for what I'm using it for. Thought I'd share my thoughts anyway ๐Ÿ™‚

Nice one.

I just got my Carve Expert today! Already swapped the grips and added bar ends (which I missed from BITD) plus added bottle cage, seat clamp and nukeproof electrons.

Hoping for first proper ride tomorrow.

Quick spin round the block was promising. I wanted something for xc stuff and general off-road mile munching, along with family canal path rides.

29er HTs make good sense to me, and it's a good thing to have your 2 bikes so different.

Enjoy your ride.

Great stuff Normal Man I'm sure with a few miles under your belt you will love it ๐Ÿ™‚
BTW I found 50 PSI was not a bad starting point for tyre pressures. Which I've kept mine at TBH ๐Ÿ™‚

plus one ๐Ÿ˜€
Cheers mattjg
