Yup, went out for a gentle pootle round the local woods that turned into a 3.5 hour hill climbing exercise up most of the larger hills in our area.

Took the single speed too ๐Ÿ˜€ And never pushed including two 15-20% longish road climbs

Yep, got out for a few hours on Saturday in the snow. Perfect conditions, frozen ground, a inch or so of frozen snow topped with a dusting of fluffy powder. Not too cold, plenty of sunshine, group of 10 or so riders, 15 miles of singletrack, followed by a huge burrito and a Corona for lunch.

Having recently moved to North Wales I'm still exploring. I found that some very nice people have been busy in my local woods! ๐Ÿ™‚

Pretty good! Went for a dh ride at Ribbesford which was proper slippy and muddy so my confidence wasn't great, but a really fun ride and I can't wait to get back when it's riding fast and dry again. Think I have my footwork and cornering/leaning the bike sorted, it's just the looking ahead I need to concentrate on now ๐Ÿ™‚

So a good weekend!

Mountain climbing in ice and snow in N.Wales, slipped, fell and slid for 300ft back down the steep as **** gully I'd just climbed. Absolutely bricked it.

Will stick to the bike in future.

2 laps of the Loughrigg loop. Icy which caused a bit of difficulty on the road bits but other than that, perfect. In fact it was too nice as it brought out the grouchy brigade.

Rode Brechfa red for the first time in about 2 years and had the whole route to myself, almost. No cars in the car park when i left and when i returned there were 2 vans and a car. The other car park(ravens trail) was fairly busy though.

Had no rides planned as approaching uni deadline. But...

...broke key off in van door while walking the dog with Mrs Julioflo near Venford reservior.

Only had wife's small hardtail [with eggbeaters on] in back of van, so tentatively pootled home on that in me wellies, picked up spare key slipped on some roadie gear and ragged it back up to the van!

An improptue hour of riding!

I popped over the quarry on Saturday and was saddened that the entire bike trails setup there is utterly destroyed - berms and tables flattened, trees felled over the trail, all the north shore is tiny pieces ๐Ÿ™ . The landowner had a large shooting party blasting away at partridge and pheasant in the other galleries. Best not to argue with folk holding guns!

Local ride on Sunday - it was muddy!

@snakebite - how olds your fella? I've got a 9 yr old who would like to try. He copes on the Monkey. Never done the dh runs myself. Perhaps should look first?

We went to the pump track in Coventry at weekend.

Finally got out after weeks of not riding due to coughing and colds.
Bit muddy (which was a shock after all the snow and ice), a few set backs with a flat after 15 minutes and a small problem with chain suck.

Can't wait to get out again.

I spent over n hour getting snow tyres onto my rims. broke two tyre levers...
finally got out as the snow was falling to discover it was covering the very smooth ice that had formed via a short thaw and sharp freeze.
chickened out when I got to a hill and had no grip at all.
The ice tyres my friend had seemed fine.
rode very carefully back to the car park.
Only fell over about 5 times :o)

Sat morning ill, in bed till 1ish after a rough night. Sat night went out to a friends for tea, ate too much and then proceeded to drink too much at another mates until 5am... Sunday in bed again recovering from too much alcohol consumption.
Now doing that kicking myself at a wasted weekend thing. ๐Ÿ˜ณ
No booze for me for the next couple of weekends โ—

I think that should be my 2011 rule. Maybe even replacing 'bike' with 'life'.

1st rule of life - never drink so much the night before as to affect life ๐Ÿ˜†
