Both the other lads were on HTs, it was only me who took the skills compensator. One of them posts on here, ben_mw, and he was off the front most of the way down...
Smashing pic there lowey, looks like you got even better conditions than we did. I do love a good inversion, getting up above the clouds under your own steam is very satisfying indeed.

Really nice VID mate, looked a great day.
Just got back from snowdon and it was immense. The climb was horrendous but the people at te summit and on the trains where amazed we went up on bikes. Rangers was brilliant and I found my flow up until the small section that looked impossible but it was just amazing.
Telegraph valley was fast with cracking jumping of the water bars 🙂 all in all a great day out, the weather was amazing which always helps.
Excellent, glad you had a good time up there, looks like the weather was pretty much perfect for it. We had a few "you're mad" comments from walkers as well, but no-one was unfriendly or obstructive, and a couple of climber types took pictures of the whole group for us on the summit. 🙂
Did it on Sunday too, by which time the snow was down to well below Clogwyn station. Views were outstanding though.
All in all, a fantastic route I've been wanting to do for some time!
Started around 10 a.m. so there were loads of walkers on the path up. One group of not particularly enthusiastic youths were all wearing "Clean Water Aid" t-shirts and one girl was even dressed as, I kid you not, a toilet. It was as much as I could do to stop myself from quipping "Oh good, I could do with a dump".
Lots of people were impressed and really complimentary but had one bloke who wasn't too happy
"Isn't there a bike ban on this path?"
"Yeah, but that doesn't start until May"
"Hmm, well you won't get much use out of that big ring today"
"Well, only on the way down!"
Nice video. Some friends and I did the ride some years ago. Loved it - and as you say, the hardest bit was the first few hundred meters up the (concrete?) farm road!
I'm sure almost every biker carries his bike up to the trig point for a "photo oppertunity". I know I did 🙂

Yeah, I reckon you could definitely ride enough of it to enjoy yourself. None of us were anywhere near clearing everything, I suspect you need to be certifiably insane to even try, but we still had a brilliant time. 😉
As you can see there are bits on the Ranger path that are properly silly, maybe 5% of the total descent, but they're quite short, and the rest of it is really good. The top is loose and rough, but most riders will be fine if they take it easy, and from the bottom of the switchbacks is all fast swoopy loveliness (with a short push uphill in the middle). If you're not sure about doing the Ranger path, going back down the Llanberis path looks like it would be smashing fun. Apart from the very top section that would be pretty much all rideable by anyone who is happy with Peak District stuff and would still be a fantastic ride in itself.
I'd say it's 50% rideable on the way and as mentioned the rangers is all rideable apart from a crazy small section. Had anyone risen back down the llanberis path, it looks like fun.
I can happily say I have ticked the box with a Snowdon ride. The push up was hard going as I am unfit and have a knackered ankle. We did it a few weeks ago when the weather was glorious. It was too hot if you ask me, around 24 at the summit and we all had some comedy sunburn despite creaming up. My videos are a bit crap because the chest strap from my camelbak got in the way. I am uploading the vids now but in the meantime here are some pics.
