My new stem is thinner around the steerer clamp than the carbon or alloy spacers I currently have which upset my aesthetic sensibilities. Does anyone therefore know of any spacers that have an o.d. less than 33mm?

I've thought the same thing.
My ritchey stem s slimmer than the carbon or alloy spacers it sits on.

I'm not sure why they have such a large od, some are thin wall but have the same od with splines contacting the steerer. You can get Richey ones that are 33mm on eBay but they are plastered in logos.
