Will a right hand blanking plate fit a left hand lever?

I imagine you might have trouble getting it to fit flush

(I'm on my own here, aren't I ?)

Thread misspelling apart, the right hand won't fit the other side then?

As shifters aren't symmetrical, doubt it'll fit...

I bought two right hand SLX blanking plates from CRC for my Deore shifters and they both fit perfectly ok, one logo might be upside down but they're under the bars so it doesn't really matter.
