i guess its ya own preference to these pads...(Hope tech x2).. i have organic pads up front which are great and sintered at the back which seems to be abit 'draggy' at the moment. think i put them in around february , they look to have still alot of pad on them yet they dont seems to work very well ? are organic alot sharper than sintered. never had my brakes blead, i just change the pads every 3 months or so ... how often do you need brakes bleeding ?

I only bleed mine if I disconnect a hose . I use sintered all year around.

hopes as they use dot fluid should be bled thru with new fluid every year or so.

I use sintered hop OE pads and expect a few thousand miles out of them.

maybe yours are contaminated with chain oil?

Organic are sharper but won't last in the wet. Sintered will last longer, but aren't as sharp, generally.

Sintered in the summer can suffer because of the heat they generate. I wouldn't use sintered in summer, there's no point.

further comments available on the post I started...search for "sintered v organic"..hope it clears things up as I was confused! 🙄

but it their not so sharp generally then it's prob not the pad compound that's the problem

nickc - do you think I should change my hardly worn sintered for summer use? I get a a couple of thousand miles or more out of a set. They seem to stop me fine - single finger wheel locking

Sintered pads get glazed when they over heat so use sand paper to take the shine off and then try them. Personally I would just take them off and buy a set of organics for £11 or so.

Brake and clutch cleaner (some will tell you car stuff is different, I doubt it is) and a bit of 400 grit sandpaper.

TJ, dunno, s'up to you, I don't care massively about how long (in mileage terms) my pads last. I run sintered in the winter in the very sloppy conditions around here and change to organic as things start to dry out, they'll last me most of summer and well into autumn, but one wet ride sees the end of them, and it's back to sintered again. But then I'm the last of late breakers when things are running fast so organic suit my brakes and my riding style.

What works for me, may not necessarily work for someone else.

anyway i guess i,ll clean off/sand the sintered pad then see if it makes any difference... if not i,ll get sum new pads...
