Forgive me if this is a daft question...

I've been out of the scene for a couple of years now and even longer since I bought any components. Need a new chain for my SLX 11 speed set up and not 100% sure of the right part as SLX seems to be a thing of the past. Any advice welcomed.

HG601 is SLX/105 equiv. HG701 is XT level. I'd get whichever was cheaper, but just check it's long enough as they come in different link lengths.

SRAM 1130 chain is what I use on my 11spd MTB set up, works a treat.

Be careful where you buy from - lots of fakes out there - stay away from too good to be true prices on eBay and Amazon -use proper bike retailers

Get a KMC X11 chain. Less prone to rust than Shimano chains and have a good life span.

I'd also go for KMC X11 chains. My last one was still going strong when I replaced the entire drivetrain at 5020km, just replaced like-for-like.

Another vote for KMC if still using 11speed. Always had the best results with them.

KMC 11 speed for the win here too.

SRAM 1130 stretches like old knicker elastic and there seem to be batches of them that have side plates that shear one after the other, ride after ride.
