Inspired from an earlier post ( http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/which-is-better-one-super-bike-or-multiple-bikes-for-different-ocassions/page/2)

Super bike* = unique or expensive (say above £4500 rrp)

*my defination

For the record I don't have a super bike but I do appreciate some bike porn 🙂

On the right Lynskey Ridgeline with XTR.
Now in bits because I prefer my little Highball Ali which now has the xtr.

[IMG] [/IMG]

For the record I count 8 so far not including mine.

Best is the Dale and Tallboy's in my opinion.

Taz.
Whoever had that sheep built for them must have been a total tool.

Looks like you've been using some of your special polishing juice on it. 😆

I love this bike more than any I have ever owned.

Just fitted some 1410g Crest/tune/DT wheels to it lighter rotors and slightly lighter tyres and lost almost 2 lbs from my heavy hope wheels and 2 piece rotor set up.

Loving the XO cranks and AbsoluteBlack 32t spiderless chainring as well

Currently 19lb dead and with non snakeskin tyres (needed around here) and the rigid carbon niner fork it would be high 16s!

I'd better add an Intense to the frame:
My 6.6 if built from scratch with new parts would be about £4.5k so just fits into your needs...
Full XT 2 x 10 with clutch
Vanilla 36's
XTR pedals
Pro3 AM4 wheels
Hope Tech M4's

That's brought the tone down a bit Yunki! No room for SLX in a superbike thread! 😉

@feisty, that in my eyes is a perfect bike, absolutely love it.

Here's my latest build which I guess could be considered to be on the way to being a super bike (despite it being an On-One!)

[img] [/img]

Lurcher frame
Niner forks
Hope Pro 2 EVO on Stans Crest, Rocket Ron 2.1 front/rear
Hope Stealth Race X2 EVO brakes
XX shifter, XX1 cranks, X0 short cage mech
Thomson post (Reverb on the way), Thomson stem, Answer bars, ESI chunky grips

It needs some tweaks (bar height is still being worked out), but I'm happy with it so far.

@njee20 the plan was initially SS with 1x10 in the future, but finding SS dropouts was a PITA so I just went geared straight away. XX1 would be nice but I already had the 10 speed cassette and the only reason I ended up with XX1 cranks was because I had a hard time finding any X0 cranks for a decent price!

I've not actually ridden it yet as I only finished it yesterday and had my stomach tattooed on Saturday morning so it was still a bit sore, but will hopefully get out on it this week and then will decide if I need more gears or not 😉

If you planned SS and have ended up with 1x10 I'm sure you'll be fine!

Frames a few years old now but still qualifies I think. Lighter than most carbon frames with similar travel.

My superbike, a Jones steel std frame with truss fork - because there's nothing else that could do all that this bike does and be so much fun doing it, or be likely to survive the amount of use/abuse this bike has seen. I have a posher version but somehow that makes it less super.

Not sure you could actually call some of these 'super' bikes.

More 'nice but really not that unusual' bikes.

I mean, a Cotic Soul? A super bike??

The Cannondale and Tallboy take it, IMHO.

Think poison spider has a point! It's all subjective I suppose. I think the brief was >£4.5K purchase price.

One mans superbike is another mans waste of 4.5k!

ok, if cost is the criteria.. no sus or gears to show for the price tag either, so it has to be 'special' )
XTR brakes ditched for BB7s with ti bolts and XTR levers now.
