Great topic!
But not many ruins in my bit of the Fens.
What we do have is miles of concrete tracks, made (so they say) by WW2 Italian POW's to help with the potato harvest. 75 years of increasingly heavier farm machinery is taking it's toll, most sections have huge slabs at odd angles, makes riding tricky when icy, or covered in mud.

Which part of Didcot would you like a photo of?

Think it counts as a ruin, somewhere on whites level SW

High angle battery on top of Portland.
Before aircraft where common battleships had heavily armoured sides but relatively flimsy decks. The high angle batteries fired almost vertically so the shots would fall onto the target.
Lots of strange things up on Portland.

Yes.
The Echo
The Echo is a loggia at the end of the southeast axis of the building, with a facade of four piers of rusticated stonework, of which alternate courses are projecting and vermiculated,[21] It has large vermiculated keystones at the heads of the three arches.[21] It is attributed to Vanbrugh, its features being almost identical to a Vanbrugh design of 1722 for a single archway.[2
PS Lost my spare camera battery in that pic ๐
