Riding my Cove this weekend and I noticed every now and then, usually during rear wheel travel, but not every time, the frame would make a metal ping sound, a bit like when metal heats or cools.

The frame is a couple of years old but hasn't had a lot of mile on it.

I've looked it over an can't see any cracks in the frame, but to be honest I haven't gone over it with a fine tooth comb.

Should I be concerned, especially as I'm off to the Alps is a couple of weeks?

I tend to get more pinging this time of year because trails are drying out and all the small rocks/gravel is loose and the front wheel will kick it up more easily. At least thats my experience. My GT is 'pinging' nicely (and has been for years).

my canyon 'pings' all the time - but then it is a hardtail with bolt through rear so its plenty stiff.
