[Closed] Shock pumps - Why so expensive

Is there any reason they are so expensive?

Would a regular track pump work instead? The valve on my x-fusion appears to be a schrader valve and I need to pump it up a bit as there's too much sag.

I wouldn't, shocks are low volume, track pumps are designed for high volume use, it'd be very easy to damage a shock by pumping it with a track pump, also the pressure gauge on track pumps isn't as accurate.

i think the key differences are a screwfit to keep a good seal and not allow any air to escape when removed, as the quantities of gas contained are so small that any release would be significant against the pressure, and the fact that they have a dump valve so you can either inflate or deflate to get to the precise pressure required.

and they do one for a tenner without a guage (although I can't see it beign much use).

A track pump is claimed to go upto 160psi on the best ones? Even a cheap chosk pump will(/should) go upto 300psi. Thats a LOT more force on all the components.
As above, theres not a lot of air involved, so a slight leak would affect the pressure greatly.
