Ship a bike/frame to Europe economically?

Need to send a bike frame to an European country, but not many couriers would take such a large box, and the best quote is still very high (£85) with ups. Any other courier people may recommend, please? Thanks.

£85 sounds like a pretty good price.
They are hard to find but some countries have good man in a van services. There's a big element of trust but depending on where you are and where it's going then it can be economical. If you know anyone from the destination country then you could ask them to look on FB.

Good to know that's a good one already, as haven't done it before so wasn't sure what to expect.

Private van service is a good shout, but probably less suitable for sending things to a unknown buyer this time, but will keep it in mind next time around.

Thanks.

My daughter had to ship her bike back from the Netherlands - £100 with DHL. So £85 sounds ok.

Indeed, they are probably in similar region - £85 is for a frame, and a full bike would probably be close to £100.

Depends where destination is in Europe and where you are relative to ferry ports here, but is taking bike in person with you for a day ferry practical?

A super quick google brought up https://www.poferries.com/en/routes/dover-to-calais/deals/day-trip-from-39

Probably work if both ends happen to be close to the ports, unfortunately not for my case though.
