Last week whilst riding 'the Edge' at Ae, one of my rear spokes went ping! Clean break... Thought i'd simply be able to pop into a shop and pick up a new one. No such luck. Anyone know a shop that stocks XT spokes? They appear to be rarer then Kryptonite!!!

Don't know about stock but any bike shop with a Madison account (pretty much any bike shop) can order them. As with most factory wheels, they're not standard issue spokes so very few shops if any will carry them.

Cheers... will give a few of the local shops another call to see if they are prepared to order some in.

Would help the LBS if you gave them the part number, you can find this here if the shop is online (instore internet connection), they should be able to tell you if the spoke is instock at Madison. if you are looking on-line, look at Petra Cycles.

Surprisingly hard to get spokes. I've got a set of Shimano road wheels that are only 18 months old. Broke a spoke, and even the local shop couldn't order any from Shimano. I ended up using a non-bladed spoke that works in a pinch but it looks kinda funny amongst the others.
