Evening all. I have just bought a rear XT m785 from lbs to replace the avid I ripped off the bike yesterday in anger. Anyway, happy to pay LBS price so I can ride next few days 🙂 but looking for cheaper online deal for the front in slow time. Rose bikes have them at stupid low price.....if I just bought the rear xt from rose (with RH lever) and just shortened the hose from 1700mm to what I need for the front ....will that work? Is the front and rear caliper mount different or is it same caliper for front and rear???

Yep same calliper. If you buy with mount adapters they're different front/rear but that's it. As you say, you'll have to shorten the hose but that's it.
