My xt pedal is loose on the axle and I dont have the proprietary tool like a mini ht2 shape. Anyway of bodging something. I have a vice and grips but they not helping.

I've used a bit of old inner tube to protect the plastic sleeve then a channellock plier to hold it. You then turn the pedal body off the shaft.
Make sure your turn it the right way though...
