Mate came round as he was having problems setting up his rear mech. Turns out the freehub is flapping big time. It's a FH-RM65 freehub Y-3CT98040 - anybody any idea if there is a cheap Shimano hub with a compatible freehub or is it to be a £25 freehub replacement?

Not a "standard" type freehub,(also out of stock at Madison). However, it's the same part on an RM60 hub, which retails at £19.99.
Edit- you have checked it's not just loose?

Thanks, does seem easier to buy a RM60. It wasn't loose took a good bit of effort with a long 10mm key to get it off.

What they said. I spotted a complete RM60 rear hub for £17.50 on the net. By far the easiest option is to buy that and strip it for bits.
