I have a Genesis Croiz de fer 2014 which I believe has post mount disc brakes. I am looking to upgrade them to hydraulics but most of Shimanos road range now seems to be the more modern flat mount.
I have a good deal on some R7020 hydro-disc STI units using the BH90 cable. If I find a Shimano MTB brakes that use the same cable, would they be compatible or will the master cylinders be different sizes?
e.g.

Croix de Fer has IS mounts. A shimano mtb caliper will work fine with the R7020s, you'llย just need some post/IS adaptors.
I use mtb calipers on both sets of road levers (R505 and R8020) and they work perfectly.
MTB calipers work fine, just make sure the hoses are compatible. Different fittings on the road levers too, so if you buy the levers and hoses seperate you'll need a fitting kit (unless you buy the road version of the hoses)
Anyone have a link to the different fittings? The road just require an olive and barb and tightened in to the port, it looks like the Deore (for example) caliper has a similar inline fitting rather than a banjo fitting?
And I presume that while "it works" it won't be officially supported by Shimano, right?
