[Closed] Shifter Indicator Stuck after Cable Change

I've just changed my gear cable for the first time and all seems to have gone well other than the little red shifter that tells you what sprocket you're on now doesn't move ๐Ÿ™

The shifter is a Shimano SL-M530 like this:

I had the top off the shifter at first which it turns out was unnecessary so I'm wondering if maybe I dropped a little spring or tiny piece of plastic without noticing?

Any ideas anybody?

It's no big deal and I don't think I ever looked at it when it worked but I know that it's gonna bug me to hell every time I sit on the bike now ๐Ÿ™„

I don't have any power in the garage and it got dark so I can't investigate any further in there tonight..

There's usually a little peg under the indicator, that drops into a hole in the shifter. If you've got it in the wrong gear then it won't locate correctly when you assemble it,shift to release the cable tension and it should line up.
