Anyone here run a soft spring in coil Pikes? What's your bodyweight and how firm does it feel?

I'm trying to work out whether I'll be able to get away with coil pikes, but at 53 kg bodyweight, I'm worried the soft spring will still be too firm and they don't seem to do an extra-soft.

For what its worth, I am 70kg(ish) and the medium was way too soft - run a firm and it feels good. I think you would be OK with a soft, they loosen up fast and are normally very eager to go through travel in a plush way.

I'm about 78kg and use a medium. I found the firm too firm for small bumps and seem to be getting on OK with the standard I fitted recently. According to this chart you should be OK hopefully with the soft.

I see you're still struggling over this spring thing.

Based on what OrangeChammy says you should be OK, but I'm 80kg and use the medium spring, so what do I know. I think it's prolly down to how hard you ride and I know that you ride pretty quick, but it's a chunk of cash to blow 'just to see'.

Do you really hate air springs that much?

Hello,

I'm running a soft on my Pikes and weigh in at 57kgs. It's good and soft too, so I reckon you'd be good. They've made me want to get a softer spring on the back end to balance the bike more.

HTH,
Damion.
