Anyone have one or know what the insides should be like?

Blue knob fell out today when I was going to use it. Taken it apart and the little o-ring that holds the ball bearing in the nut part had broken (replaced that with the closet I had) but it also appears that there should be an E-clip on the shaft or something to stop it rising up? There is a little metal bracket on the lower casing screw which looks like it should lock something in place but no e-clip or anything else in there.

yeah kind of bodged it with a new o-ring that kind of fitted and an E-clip I borrowed off something else.

What type and size clip did you need to use? Proper E clip or external circlip? And also, any idea what size the bearing is, I'm guessing 2mm?

I took mine apart earlier (having the same problem as you), need to source a new clip, the housemate's girlfriend picked the bearing up exclaiming about how small it was and promptly dropped it, not seen it since, not been able to find or pick it up with a magenet either 🙄

oh crap, I dropped the BB too - outside on a broken path - fortunately I managed to spot it. It's about 1.5mm so probably 1/16th of an inch at a guess - check the hole size.

I used an E clip - not sure what was supposed to be in there but there was no sign of anything and I'm sure nothing dropped out. I used an e-clip from a 1/8th inch shaft but it was a bit small. Probably want something about 50% bigger - an external circlip could work too but small ones tend to have big 'ears' which may get in the way.
