Purchased some dual air revs and after some tips from the stw massive.
So do I let the air out of both ends the fill the + air to required sag.
Then put a bit less in the -air end.
Is that it?
What will to much or to little -air do?
I don't think you can "the fill the + air to required sag.
Then put a bit less in the -air end". At least I can't with my Dual Air RCT3 29er Revs. The -ve side seems pretty well sealed, so with nothing in there the forks are really stiff. In order to set sag I need to fill both (+ve then -ve) to whatever pressure I#ve decided on then check. If I want to change it I tend to let all of the air out (-ve then +ve) and try something else, although I don't know whether this is necessary.
Find the appropriate number on the weight sticker and knock 10PSI off it.
Whack that much into the positive chamber.
Put that much plus or minus 10 PSI into the negative. A lower number in the negative will give less dive, less sag, and a firmer feel like a coil fork running a lot of pre-load. Putting more in than the positive gives the fork a softer feel, more sag but more dive.
Any other tips?
Also the push lock has got to go!
I guess it's just a case of removing the cable and spring..
With the negative the best thing to do is move the red stanchion ring up about 2mm, then pump until you *just* see the ring move down.
This is the point that's just past equal pressure but will make your fork feel supple and active. Make a note of this pressure. (It might not be the same as your positive pressure!)
Then you can adjust to taste from there, more air will be more active & plusher but you will loose a few mm of travel.
The dual airs are a bit of a dark art, but once you find your setup they work fantastically.
Thanks plyphon I will give that a go.
Any more advice on the pushloc mod/removal?
