Hello - anyone riding a Roadrat as a SS or with an Alfine? I would like to know if there's any problem removing rear wheel - do you have to slack off or remove the brake caliper because of the rear facing horizontal drop-outs?

The only time we've had trouble with any modern brakes is if the wheel is right at the front of the track ends, and the disc is further forward in the slot. Disc that makes the disc caliper more vertical it can lead to catching on some brakes, although the Magura and Tektro brakes we spec on the bikes aren't an issue. Once the disc caliper and axle are away from that far forward position (and with Alfine or SS they will be for chain tension) you'll have no trouble.

Thanks - I'm thinking Magura Julies, so that sounds as if it will work fine. (Edit - with 160 mm rotor)

Run a alfine on mine with bb5 brakes and no issues at all.
