All the cheap 80mm stems seem to be road orientated, what is the difference between road & MTB stems as weights and material types seem to be very similar?

Be fine for more XC type riding, not sure I'd use one on a jump bike.

Been running this one (80mm version) on my bikes for ages and I still live...

TBH when I bought it from O-O I'm not even sure it was mentioned that it was road stem ๐Ÿ˜•

Isn't the handlebar clamp diameter thing an issue though? 25.4mm mtb, 26mm road bike (unless it's 31.8 OS then this is completely irrelevant).

I ask, cos I once had a nightmare trying to get a flat mtb bar to clamp up properly in an old roadbike stem; used bit of drinks can as a shim in the end.
