Morning all,
For various reasons I'm looking for a road bike. I have my London Road which is really versatile but I fineyself doing an increasing number of all road rides due to the company I keep so am thinking it might be nice to have an out and out road bike.
Now, I like the slightly wider tyres so am looking for something that will take 30s, is comfortable rather than racy, carbon (probably), has hydraulic discs and ideally 105 level components.
Budget less than £2000, ideally closer to £1700.
So far the choices appear to be a Canyon Endurace CF SL 7.0 disc or a Ribble Endurance SL Disc.
Pretty much like for like component wise and only £100 between them. The kicker is that I can get the Ribble now, Canyon is on a 2 month wait.
Oh year, the Ribble has guard mounts, the canyon doesn't but imo looks nicer.
Any reason not to get the Ribble?
Scott Addict 20, comes with 32mm tyres. Mmmmmm, comfy.

That Scott will take some beating for weight too at that price 🙂
now, it's not carbon, and they're mechanical brakes, not hydraulic (albeit better than normal), but this would be my choice. You could ride for hours on here (and 35mm tyres!)

I've got a 2016 version of this bike (the next one up actually) - it's great. The one above has 105, hydro discs and will take big tyres easily (I run 28mms in my one and could easily put bigger in). 75 quid off if you trade in an old bike. Well below your target price....
The new version of the one I have is below - mainly ultegra:

Thanks for replies everyone, I'll check out some of the links.
I've noticed some of them have cable brakes, I'm really after full hydraulics. I've got spyres on my London Road and they work well but fancy something different. Same with an adventure bike, I currently run the London road with 38s and it works well as a commuter and bridleway bike, however I want somethin more road focussed this time around so probably up to 30mm tires should be fine

Newer, better spec groupset equivalent of my 2016 road bike, I see they now come with a full carbon fork rather than an alloy steerer and solid Aksium wheels (mine came with Fulcrum Racing Sport 77 DBs, which have a bad rep for freehub issues if they see water).
Will easily take 700x28 Conti GP4000S IIs, which measure ~31mm in the real world.
Geo is quite upright, my 58cm has 388/610mm reach/stack, I'm 178cm with a long torso. https://www.cube.eu/en/2018/bikes/road/road-cyclocross/attain-gtc/cube-attain-gtc-race-disc-greyngreen-2018/
I swapped out the alloy seatpost for https://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/SPSEDEHM/selcof-delta-hm-carbon-seat-post and the Fulcrum wheels for a pair of https://www.huntbikewheels.com/products/aero-light-disc-road-wheelset-1449g-28deep-22wide and it's a hoot to wizz up and down categorised climbs around Warnford.
https://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/CBPXPCEDRIV22/planet-x-pro-carbon-evo-disc-rival22 looks a great spec for the money, but like a few other deals at Pauls, I've no idea on their tyre clearance.
I really wouldn't rule out that Scott Addict just because it comes with 32mm tyres. Very good bike for the money.
Depending on size, but the Spec Roubaix is approx. £1900 in Rutland at the moment (2018 model). Comes with Ultegra Hyraulic brakes and a mix of Ultegra and 105 groupset. Link below but needs a code to get the extra 10%. Listed on the main page of the site.

But my personal favourite would be the Supersix Evo, again with Ultegra Hydraulic and Ultegra groupset. £1800 from Pauls. Just buy it now - job done.
