How is it up there at the moment?

Got some friends coming to sample some of our local biking this weekend. Doing Gisburn on Saturday and was then planning rivvy on Sunday. Was hoping to do White Copice, round the ressy to Rivington up and then down ICR, back up and to Winter Hill, down to Belmont but then not sure whether to do along Witton Weavers and a go up Darwen before back along to White Coppice OR do along the flags at the top to Great Hill and down to White Coppice.

How is it at the tops, is it wet at all or still pretty good?

crispo - we were up on't moors the other night. Its not too bad at all. Its boggy lower down in the places you'd expect it to be. But its fine up on the tops. This weather won't do any harm either. Its perfect!

You'll be reet ๐Ÿ˜€

Done bits of that route twice in the last week. All round White Coppice and lakeside cheeky stuff is all very dry.
Everything's holding up well at the moment.
I haven't tried the Horden Stoops climb to the flagstones over Great Hill for a few months now. It was still wet up there in the middle of the heatwave. It won't be any driers now.

Did you go up to Great hill from brinscall then rather than the flags from Rivington way?

Not sure if they'll enjoy great hill or Darwen more, decisions decisions!

Yes, Great Hill from Brinscall is fine.
Climb (or descent if preferred) from White Coppice is also fine.
Descent off Great Hill towards Tockholes is surprisingly dry at the moment. After a few weeks more rain and you'll start to sink on that descent.

To connect up Rivi with White Coppice and Brinscall, a low level route on the lakeside and then the Goyt would be better. You could return via Healey Nab if you prefer that to Great Hill.

Anyone know where I can find a gpx file of nice circular routes around these spots?
