i`m curious to go full rigid on my HT to spice up the local trails. My Ht is a 120mm min frame and needs a 29er fork and all teh forks i seems to be able to see are quite short?

can you even get longer 29er rigids?

i dont mind heavy. i`d rather cheaper as its an experriment!

EDIt - boost 15mm as well

What is the Axle to Crown (A2C) measurement in your current forks? Let's call that X

How much travel in your current forks? Call that Y.

The A2C of a suitable rigid fork should be X - (Y*0.2) or thereabouts.

Then just search for forks with that A2C. Exotic likely do one, you'll find stuff from Surly, probably Salsa too.

FWIW I bought some cheapo carbon boost forks off eBay and they've been fine.

Genesis tarn carbon forks have the length equivalent to 120mm. I sold mine on here not long ago, measurements on the ad if needed.

Which frame is it? Someone's probably already tried it... and if not we can work out what A2C might work best.

I went with a Surly Krampus 110 for my big-dog.

Actually rides quite nicely.

The Bird Blank fork should do the job:

Have been having thoughts of it myself!

you are the best chief! i`ve just spend half teh morning not finding those.!

i'll order some of those. ive been looking at tims cannondale but i've no room for another bike!

when they arrive i`ll do a thursday ride and you can have a go.

might need shorter cranks but hey-ho i might destroy my wrists first.

“ when they arrive i`ll do a thursday ride and you can have a go.”

If they’re here soon then I think I’ll still be on a post-concussion/broken finger/sprained wrist hiatus! Top tip - don’t get blinded by the sun and clip your bar on a road sign at ~25 mph…
