A friend who's recently got quite into mtbing is likely to be moving to Derby. Anyone know what the local mtbing is like? Any groups go out regularly particularly during the week (eg evenings/night rides)

Group go from the John Thompson in Ingleby pub every Monday night at 1830.
Derby Mercury organise this and a few go out (including me) at other times.
DVATC, of which the_muffin_man is a member, also ride in the Derwent Valley, not sure which evenings though.

Yep DVATC do some good rides, I've not been out with them for a while now though, but they are a good bunch. Tuesday nights and Sundays - rides all over the Derwent Valley area.
