It's a simple steel fork, should be pretty easy to strip and handle for painting so I might have a go.
How easy to get a decent durable finish? And what paint?
Tbh you will spend more on stripper and paint than it will cost to get them powder coated so that's what I would do.

Probably cost you a tenner at your local powder coating place
yup.. id save yourself the bother too and get them done at your local powder coaters..
it is possible to get a good finish at home..
but a powder coat will be much tougher and will be cheaper once youve bought
the paint stripper.. the primer.. the paint.. the laquer.. the wet n dry.. the rubbing compound..
and not forgetting waiting for the paint to properly harden afterwards..
For a tough durable paint finish you really need to be looking at 2pack which really isn't practical for a home user.
Normal singlepack or Cellulose will give you a good finish but chip relatively easily.
I have sprayed forks before but for the effort and cost it works out the same or less to get them powdercoated.
How well do the 2-pack aerosols work?
