Think my steel bearings are dying. Recs for replacements, or new BB?
I'm not a rich man....

not much choice for replacement bearings, Hope hold the license for that particular size.

Superstar sell those black top hat bushes that take it from 25mm inner diameter to 24mm and I can sell you some top end bearings, should work a treat I think.

Give me a shout and well see what can be done! 😀

Well finally got some time so I did this.

Seems to work fine, now for some shameless plugging of my products 😯

£14 for 2x top end bearings with my custom weather proofing 😀

custom weather-proofing = "fill with grease" yes?

It's a bit more complexed than just filling with grease, not much more but a bit more 8)

That's cool, I already checked and they fit fine 😉

What kind of outer washer? the one that sits between the BB shell and BB ❓

I would get an aluminium one and also have your BB faced 😀

Actually chaps ❗

custom weather proofing means 2 years of research into the best grease to use, removing the old grease and then putting in said grease that is the best to use, obviously refitting the seals without damaging them is vital as well 😉

You lot SAVVE!! ❓

Nah actually it probably a "shield" rather than a washer, the one that sits on the outside of the Hope BB's to protect the bearing. I'm hoping some-one might have a spare, if they change their Hope bears to a 6805 with a tophat as per this thread, as my lbs managed to loose one of mine when I had small issue with my Hope BB (they did me a favour at the time, so not complaining about it).

Thanks
