I want:

Something that will last a long time. Used about 3-4 times a month. Folding would be a bonus, lightweight isn't a requirement.

Secondhand or new, any bargains?

I've been using an Elite Spin Doctor and find it very good as it doesn't clamp the frame, you can also easily spin the bike 360deg to work on the other side, only problem is you have to take 1 wheel out but it is VERY stable and height adjustable. £100 at wiggle.

Park tool PCS-9 stand, robust, can rotate to any position you'd ever need the bike at and can be folded up...

Ditto the PCS-9 - I got one a while back and I'm pretty happy with it.

Minuses over the more expensive ones - clamping jaw has a screw to lock it rather than a QR which makes it a bit harder to use

that's about it, I think 🙂

This Park one is pretty robust (and heavy).

Can't really go wrong, super solid and sort of folds.

I got a spin doctor too and found it perfect for my needs. About £63 on CRC too I think
