[#1539337]

I've been tasked with sorting out the disco music for our wedding as the future Mrs H is organising just about everything else, apparently some cheese is required. Any classic suggestions from the stw massif (obviously I can't say what the first song is!)

The context is borrowdale valley YHA in a marquee in May, hopefully glorious sunshine, possibly rain but heres hoping! We also have a band playing clasic 70's beatles, dire straits etc ๐Ÿ™‚

Good suggestions keep them coming.

I wanted 'nice day for a white wedding' Billy Idol
or 'bring your daughter to the slaughter' Iron Maiden
as the first songs but i've been firmly told NO!

Imperial March by John Williams.

Or the Dambusters March as featured at my own wedding.

Too drunk to f*ck.

Certainly true of my wedding night/morning/the next day.

As much as it pains me, cheese is the way to go.

I DJd a wedding as afavour to a friend a few years ago, I'd just got off from a tour as the warmup/tour DJ for an at the time big band so I just brought along the stuff I'd been touring with.

It was ****ing ace to see Grandad busting a move to the Libertines and a bloke getting a public scolding for throwing Townsend windmills to won't get fooled again.

I also managed to play the theme to Sickness and in Health and close with I could be so good for you (theme from Minder).

Come to think of it, it's been a few years but the email's in the profile if you fancy similar.

Our first dance was Songs of love by Divine Comedy, took most people a wee while to cop also theme music father ted, especially apropriate as we're Irish and I get called Dougle frequently.

anything by the wedding present

(see what I did there and nice depressing songs about cheating and unrequieted love)

we made a mix cd of indie stuff and cheese. Worked well.

Knocking at your back door - Deep Purple

And open with The Stone Roses - Breaking Into Heaven. Five minute intro, gives them time to get another pint in quick.
