I have a rather sorry looking and torn pair of these that I originally got for £30

Currently suffering from hip bursitis after a crash, I'm sure it would have been worse without them but I would rather replace with something a bit more padded. (And ideally looking less like underwear and maybe with pockets?!) Can anyone recommend something? With good hip and tailbone protection, a chamois pad, and ideally not breaking the bank?
There are impact shorts with better impact protection than TroyLee. POC, Dainese etc are good, but they are more like underwear than full shorts.
There is also Forcefield, with good impact pads, but they have not really got the best seat pad.
The trouble with underwear style shorts is either I have to 1. wear other shorts on top - which is way too hot if you're going uphill - or, 2. go out in my underwear. I'm amazed nobody has solved this conundrum.
