Cheap as chips please.

Singlespeeding is fun and I'm getting used to it but I want to hitch the trailer up next week and I always overload it so I'm going to convert to 1x9.

Would consider second hand if anyone has one going.

Cheers

Depends what you're doing with it, but if you want ultra cheap an old front mech with the limit screws forced into place works ok.

Otherwise a Superstar XCR is about as cheap as it gets.

+1 for old mech. I'm about to fit one to my mtb cos i nearly came off at the weekend due to chain-come-off-over-bump fail.

What mount do you need?

p.s. turns out you know my Grandad... Peter.

I guess the chain device is a more elegant solution. I'm not sure what mount it is tbc. It's for the rockhopper.
Peter is quite a character. I wonder how many wooden dogs you've got in your house.

I think it's a hollowtech BB if that makes any difference.

hmm - you will need a BB mounted one. I have an old ISCG one here in my shitbin but it won't work for you.

I manage to resist the dogs but my dad and dad-in-law didn't get off so easily...

Tried a Superstar tube mounted device and it didn't last long - utter rubbish.

Like many switched to a N-Gear Jump Stop £10, and a cheap BBG Bash.

A superstar bb mount will suit you 100% fine. www.superstarcomponents.com, it should be about £17 .
