Hi
My friend blew his rear shock on his cube xms on a recent ride. It wont hold any air now. The local bike shop sent it away to cube to repair the shock and they apparently cant do anything with it and they say it wont repair.
Its apparently out of warranty and thats not a problem to him, the bit we need help with is this - the shock/stroke length is 165mm and we dont know if this means any shock with a length of 165mm will fit.
Sorry if this is self explanatory to a lot of you. we only ride the bikes and dont have a huge understanding of matters like this.
If any body has a rear shock to fit that there willing to sell my email is in the profile.
Thanks in advance for your help
Hi the 165mm is the eye to eye measurment, which is the distance between the centres of the mounting holes at either end of the shock.
The stroke which is how much the shock will compress will be 38mm so if your looking for a new shock you should look for a 165 X 38. Go for a Fox air shock ideally, ther are quite a few about with online retaillers at very low prices.
Thanks loCo much appreciated
